THe Macon County Food Pantry

Hunger knows no season. In Macon County, more than 50% of single parent homes live below the national poverty level. More than 30% of all households are in need of food assistance. The Macon County Ministers' Council has established the Macon County Food Pantry to address these needs

This food pantry is supported primarily by local churches, ministries, organizations, and businesses, that partner with us to provide the funds necessary to purchase food from the regional food bank.

The Macon County Food Pantry held a food distribution at Warrior Stand Recreation Center. The Brothers Inspiring Excellence, from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinarian Medicine picked up almost 4,000 lbs. of food. Then they eagerly and energetically distributed it to the mostly elderly crowd along with Food Pantry Committee members and faithful volunteers. It was great weather and the Peace of Christ was upon the area. It was a great time!
